Numeric Engine Control System (SMKS)

We signed the "Numeric Engine Control System" (SMKS) project with TEI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) in 2019 as part of the Turboshaft Engine Development Project.

Aircraft engines are one of the most complex products in the defense and aerospace industry. Modern engines are numerically controlled, and the complexity of the engine is directly reflected in the unit that controls it. As AYESAŞ, with our extensive experience and knowledge in the development of hardware and software of avionics systems for aircraft, we were one of the natural addresses for the development of these units and we undertook to develop such a complex unit within the SMKS project. SMKS, which ensures that the engine operates as desired by sending commands to the actuators that match the information from the sensors and the user's commands, is the entire system that comprises the engine's control and health functions. SMKS will reduce dependence on foreign countries for the manufacture of aircraft engines, and such a system will be developed for the first time using national resources. SMKS, which we are designing, equipping and manufacturing, is included as a critical part of the Turboshaft Engine Development Project. As part of this project, we will carry out the development of the low-level software of the SMKS, the software development, hardware and production of the Engine Monitoring Unit (MIU) as well as the design and production of the SMKS ground support and test unit.
